The Renault Master has continued its success at the What Car? Van and Commercial Vehicle Awards, having been named ‘Best Large Van’ for the second year running, while the Master E-Tech electric retained its title as ‘Best Large Electric Van.’
The repeat recognition from the What Car? judging panel reinforces the Master’s position as the leading choice in the large van sector, with both powertrains praised for combining strong efficiency, practicality and everyday usability for businesses.
Highlighting the strengths that secured the Master its second consecutive ‘Best Large Van’ title, What Car? Editor Steve Huntingford said: “Last year, the Renault Master won our Large Van Award, and it continues to offer the best all-round package in the segment in 2026. It’s more efficient than rivals and comes loaded with safety kit. But crucially, this doesn’t come at the expense of practicality; on the contrary, the Master is one of the most versatile vans in the class, and access to its load space is superb.”
Explaining why the Master E-Tech electric remains the benchmark in its class, he added: “Despite the arrival of fresh competition in the large van market over the past year, no rival has managed to match the all-round package of last year’s winner, the Renault Master E-Tech. With a long official range, fast charging capabilities, and a practical, well-proportioned load area, the Master E-Tech proves that even drivers of large vans can go electric without compromising. Plus, drivers are well looked after, with a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and a broad suite of assistance systems fitted as standard.”
Seb Brechon, Head of LCV and Brand Performance, Renault UK, said: “These awards from What Car? reinforce just how strong the Renault Master line-up is for businesses today. Whether customers choose the efficiency of the diesel model or the zero-emissions capability of Master E-Tech electric, they benefit from a van designed to maximise usability, productivity and comfort throughout the working day. Retaining these titles is a great endorsement of the Master’s ability to meet the evolving needs of fleets and operators.”
Designed to go further, carry more and cost less to run, the Renault Master is available in a wide range of versions tailored to the requirements of different businesses. With load volumes spanning 11 to 14.8 cubic metres, the Master provides exceptional cargo capacity, complemented by awider-opening sliding side door and extended load length to make loading easier. Its modern cabin and comprehensive suite of safety and driver assistance systems are designed to support productivity and comfort throughout the working day.
The Renault Master E-Tech electric delivers the same practicality with the benefits of zero-emissions driving. Powered by a 105kW motor producing 300Nm of torque and paired with an 87kWh battery, it offers a WLTP range of up to 285 miles. Rapid charging capability enables up to 142 miles of range to be added in around 30 minutes using 130kW DC charging, while a 22kW AC charger allows a 10–100% recharge in under four hours.
The Renault Master is available from £33,500 plus VAT or £37,500 plus VAT after PiVG for the E-Tech electric versions.
